father's day card
Hello all,
I was asked to make a father's day card for someone at work with nice cars.... so I thought what better than a waterfall card with very nice cards on it.
I started with an 8 x 8 card blank and matted and layered on to it with silver miri board and a pretty black and white background paper.
I then created the waterfall element of the card using the sliver miri and same backing paper and adding the pictures of the lovely cars.
I finished with gems and a sentiment and a ribbon for the pull element of the waterfall card.
TTFN, happy crafting.

Aly's Inky Fingers Competition......
Hello all,
I though I would have a go at Aly's Inky Fingers competition from this months project club stamps.
I though I would have a go at Aly's Inky Fingers competition from this months project club stamps.
I took a piece of A4 card to make an A5 card blank and matted with black card, I took a white piece of card and stamped the various flowers and leaves from the stamp range from this months project club in different distress ink colours (rusty hinge, shaded lilac, forest moss, walnut stain) and inked round the edges of the card in lemonade and scattered straw and shabby shutters. This created my backing paper.
I took a doily and again inked the doily with the same inks and stamped with the same flowers in the same colours.
I created a ribbon strip from white card matted on to black card and inked and stamped again to match the doily and backing paper.
I die cut a pretty shape and again inked and stamped this, and stamped the Thank You" stamp from the project stamps in the centre of the die cut card stamp and layered on to silver.
Again from the stamps I stamped the watering can with stayz on ink on to silver miri card and cut out to make a pretty accessory for the card.
I layered all together and punched some leaves to decorate and some glitter and liquid pearls and volia - this is my card for the competition.
I must admin I had a lot of fun making this card and am very pleased with the results.

how to make quilled flowers......
Hello all,
This is an instructional blog about how I make quilled flowers, I use the crafters companion quilled flower dies and stamen and spectrum noirs to colour them in with. I die cut the petals and stamen from 140 gsm white card as I find this weight more suitable for manipulating the flowers.

quilled flowers
Hello all,
I needed to make a "thinking of you" card for someone at work who has had some very bad news this week.
So I though what better than some beautiful quilled flowers and loads of glitter to cheer someone up a little.
Using the Crafter's Companion quilling dies, I cut, coloured with spectrum noir pens (PP1, PP3, PP5, CT1, CT3, CT4, GB5, GB3, CR1, CR2, HB1, HB2, HB3, and LG2, LG4, CG4, for the leaves) and quilled 7 flowers and sprayed with Crafter's Companion Stick and Stay and dipped in glitter..... you need a bit of sparkle.
I punched and die cut various leaves and again coloured and sprayed with glue and dipped in glitter (only some of them). I punched out a vase and coloured with spectrum noir (EB7)
For the base card, I used A3 centura pearl snow white card, I folded in half to make an A4 card, matted with silver miri card and layered with centura pearl snow white card, I then die cut a trellis panel and matted with silver miri card and stuck to the base card. I added the vase, leaves and flowers, then added punched, coloured, glittered butterflies, a pretty ribbon, gems, and liquid pearls butterfly trials and finished with a sentiment.
Hopefully it will make the person smile and remember she has a lot of people who care for her and who are wishing her well and thinking of her.

Next Crafting Workshop Sunday 27th April 2014
Hello,
Our next workshop is Sunday 27th April 2014 at Lench's Trust, Ridgeacre Road, Quinton. Bham. B32.
I cater for all levels of crafters and it is a fun and friendly group of like minded people.
We will be focusing on men's cards at this workshop - as men's cards always seem the hardest to do!
We have three projects to made, the first two pictures are the same card, it is a hide and slide card, the picture turns and appears, if you turn the other way, it disappears.
The 3rd picture is of a double pocket card, this is where you can tuck messages, toppers, pictures, book marks etc into the pockets on the front of the card.
The 4th picture is a DIY card - wall papering, I decided to make this fun and show when wall papering goes wrong..... it was fun to make.
I hope you can join me on 27th April for this work shop.
TTFN, happy crafting.

fairy card
Hello all,
continuing on from the fairy card, still using the fairy dies, this time I cut the fairy silhouette out of the card to make a topper, and created a double matt and layer from black card and white card, and put the silhouette on the top matt and layer, using a Martha Stewart leaf border punch, I punched a full strip (A4 length) of border leaves and cut up to make corner pieces and added a pearl to each corner.
I do love this die, next step is to cut the fairy out completely....... watch this space.

fairy silhouette card
hello again,
More dies from the NEC (I did buy quite a few) - I think I am addicted to crafting, it is a problem - NOT!
I fell in love with the new tonic dies - fairies, and loved this one in specific. I though I would make a silhouette card cutting out the centre panel and leaving it in the card.
I chose black and white and added a few pearls and a couple of butterflies.
Such an easy card to make.

weeping willow tree card.....
Hello,
Following on from all the new dies that I brought from the NEC last week, (with my co-conspirator - Ann) there is another card below that I made.
I brought a weeping willow tree die, and a beautiful ornate fence dies and a grass/flowers die for the bottom of the page. I came up with the idea of a step card and put the fence on to acetate and cut it out and stuck on the small first step, then die cut the grass/flowers and inked through the die with distress inks and stuck this over the fence die on the first step.
I die cut two weeping willow trees and stencilled through the die with brown and green distress ink, I stuck one on the back step of the card and the other to the back of the acetate fence overhanging the fence.

New dies...... Shoes and bags!
Hello all,
Well, I have been to the NEC last week and brought loads of lovely crafting goodies...... don't tell the hubby!
I fancies some lovely new dies and saw these shoes and handbags and fell in love with them and imagined so many things I could do with them.
One idea I came up with immediately was to use another new die - Happy Birthday and some black card and red miri card on a white card base.
I die cut the shoes and bags and the happy birthday,
I folded an A4 card in half to make an A5 landscape card and matt and layered red miri and black card to the top and bottom (different heights) and added the bags and shoes and the happy birthday.
This is what I created.

Workshop Sunday 6th April 2014.......
Hello all,
Our next workshop is Sunday 6th April and we will be creating the beautiful projects below. The workshop is at Lynch's Trust, Ridgeacre Rd, Quinton. B32 and starts at 10am - 12pm. The cost is £8 per workshop and all project items will be provided, all you need to bring is your own tool kit (trimmer, score board, ruler, scissors, etc).
Everyone is welcome and we will cater for all levels of crafter's, from beginners to advanced. It is a lovely friendly group.
We will be using a variety of stamps and distress inks to create our own backgrounds and images and using die cuts to build up the pictures creating different layers and levels to the projects. Depending on the colours of distress inks you choose you can create different seasons for your cards.
We will also be creating alternative Easter Gifts - no chocolate involved.....
Using deep picture frames, we will be sanding the frames so we can stain them to the colours we want, and will be punching out butterflies, making quilled flowers/leaves and creating our own backgrounds to place inside the frames.
We will be using glitter and liquid pearls to finish off (you can't forget the glitter).
Hope to see you next Sunday.

lady silhouette card
Hello all,
I brought one of the new tonic dies - and decided to cut into it and take out the image in the centre of the die - as you do!
Using a basic 8 punch (they are so good - I really recommend these) I created a black and white shaped background for my silhouette lady, I put her down on the white punched background and twisted the black punched background and stuck this down (with foam pads to lift).
I then used a beautiful corner die and created four corners.
I kept this card in black and white as I felt it looked good like this. This was so much fun to make.

Corpse Bride Wedding Card.....
Hello
Well, I must admit, I did enjoy making this card.
I was asked to make a "Dark" wedding card, so I though what better than corpse bridge as a base and black and white.
I started with an A3 piece of card to make an A4 card blank, I matt and layered with silver miri board and a grey scale backing paper, I then googled an image of corpse bridge and printed out and added glitter - it is a wedding card after all.
I them punched out some hearts using a martha stewart heart punch and used for decoration, I die cut a large black heart and a smaller white one with a sentiment and attached gems to the corners and a lovely big black and white polka dot ribbon to the top.
And this is the finished result.

Mother's Day......... Carried On!
Hello again,
Continuing on with the personalised Mother's Day gifts, so far we have, 2 DVD's (not hand made), hand made scarf, hand made box for everything to be put in and a hand made card and some bubble bath, moisturiser etc for a bit of pampering.
I thought I would continue down the handmade route and make a personalised picture frame for her.
I started with a basic wooden frame (the size is not important......), I roughly sanded the frame and added some stain to the frame to make the wood darker and then glitter sprayed the frame with Crafter's Companion Pearl Spray to give it a little sparkle (not too much - just a hint).
I then die cut a fence panel from white card and coloured in with my EB3, EB5, EB7 Spectrum Noir Pens, and cut a branch from Core-dinations card stock, I punched out 4 butterflies and coloured with Spectrum Noir pens (PP2, PP4, CR4) and stuck two together and then sprayed with Crafter's Companion (purple can) re-positional spray glue and dipped in glitter (you can also use the red can - permanent glue spray), I then used Tonic stamp and punch to create the flowers, once punched out of white card and stamped I coloured with Spectrum Nior pens (PP2, PP4), and stuck two together, I added glitter and once dry I dipped in melted clear embossing powder (UTEE - I used a melt pot for this) and left to dry, I also punched twigs and branches and again coloured and dipped in melted UTEE and set aside to dry.
I put the picture in the frame and added the fence to the bottom left hand side and the flowers and branches/twigs to the bottom right corner and the branch top left and finally added butterflies and used a liquid pearl pen to create butterfly trails down the frame.
I used a hot glue gun to stick everything down, but you could use 3d glue gel if you prefer.
I then decided to get my own back for all the embarrassing baby pictures and put a lovely picture of my Mom wearing a pink piggy hat....... you know what they say about pay backs!
Ta Dah......
I really enjoyed making this project and it is definitely unique. Father's Fay next........ what embarrassing pictures do I have of my Dad!

Mother's Day.....
Hello all,
Well, Mother's day is coming around again and what to do this year......
I though I would go down the personal route and make special personalised things and give a goodie box of items, bubble bath, moisturiser, hand made items, scarf, DVD's, picture frame, all packed in a special hand made box.
My first project was knitting and I have knitted my Mom a cute red and black fashion scarf with sliver threads through it.
It was the first time I have knitted this this wool and it was easier than I imagined..... after I got used to it.
Secondly, I made made a personalised card for her, I used the Katy Sue Fabulous Fashions CD and created a window card following the instructions on the disc. I had to add ribbon and gems and pearls and glitter - it would be rude not to.
And this is the end result......
More to follow soon.

I loved making this card, it was so easy but I love the end result and can do so much with it.
All you need is:
1 x A4 WHITE CARD
1 X A5 PATTERNED PAPER
1 X 3 X 12” CORE-DINATIONS CARD
1 X GREEN & PATTERNED PAPER FOR LEAVES AND FLOWERS
1 X PICTURE TOPPER
1 X SENTIMENT TOPPER
EXTRA ITEMS REQUIRED
Glue /
tape / foam pads for sticking
Score
Board
Trimmer / Scissors
Fence like
punch or die
Scalloped
punch or die
Small flower
punches – different sizes
Leaf punch
or die
distress inks
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the A4 white card, measure up 6 cm inches from each side and cut across the length to 7 cm (do this on both sides of the card, then cut the corner out so you are left with an upside down T shape.
On the bottom of the upside down T shape fold down 7 cm, this becomes the roof, and the two sides pieces become the gates/walls at the side.
Using
patterned paper cover inside sides and back of white card; use the remainder to
cover side front panels of white card. You can ink this using distress inks to tint the edges and create dimension to the card.
Using
different size flower punches, punch out flowers from the pretty papers and leaves from green paper, this is to decorate the front panels of the
card at the end of the project. Again, use distress inks to give the flowers shade and colour. If you do not have patterned paper to use, using your spectrum nior pens colour in white paper to make your own coloured/patterned paper.
Make
up the decoupage/invertage/picture topper and stick to the inside back section of the bird house.
Using
the core-dinations card stock, cut 4 x 2 inch strips (short end strips) and
using a scalloped punch, punch down the long edge of all 4 pieces and layer up
on the roof to create a tiled roof effect.
With
the remainder of the core-dinations card, punch or die cut fence like strips and put on
the front side panels of the card to create a fence/gate like front. Decorate front with punched flowers and leaves
and add sentiment on the back of the card to finish.
This is such a lovely card to make for men.
