Card Making Workshop Sunday 26th January 2014

Hello all,

Our next workshop at  Lench's Trust, Ridgeacre Road, Quinton, B32 is this Sunday from 10am - 12pm. We will be making a bird house card, a LOVE card and a triangle card.

The first two pictures are the bird house card (for want of a better title), it is made from a piece of A4 card and a selection of punches to make the roof and fence, then backing paper, toppers and flowers are added for the finished results.

The next card is a triangle card and again made from one piece of A4 card cut to 6 inches high (full length of A4 but height trimmed to 6") you cut and measure along the length at 2 1/2 & 1 1/2 from each end and fold, then cut the triangles from 6" to 3" and matt and layer and add toppers and embellishments to finish.

The final card of this weeks workshop is a LOVE card, it is a word card spelling the word LOVE and decorated with mini pictures and toppers and gems and glitter and tied with a ribbon to finish.

The next workshop is Sunday 9th February at 10am at Lench'sTrust, suitable for all levels of crafters.

Hope to see you Sunday.

Workshop Projects - Lench's Trust - Quinton.

Hello all,

Below are some projects will be creating at our workshop in the next couple of months.

The first 3 pictures are using a Wee Stamps character which I coloured in using Sprectum Noir pens for the Lilia clothes, I used HB1, 2, 3 for the Pink clothes I used PP1, 2, 4, 5.  The Brown/Blonde hair is a combination of GB3, 4, TN3, LY1 and the Black is a combination of IC2, 3, 5, 7, 8.

I then punched out of the main card an apperature using Tonic dies and kept the middle of the apperature and stamped a sentiment (from Katy Sue Shoes Sentiments) and inked round hte edge with distress ink.

Using Tonic Punch and Stamp Set (clematis, lily and poinsettia set), I punched out 3 sets of flowers and stamped the petals and cut out leaves and again stamped veins on the leaves, I then coloured with spectrum noir pens (I used the the same coloured pens as I used for the clothes).

I then die cut/punches various fauna/leaves to add bulk to the flowers and a swirl.

This is a project we will be creating shortly at a workshop and it is based on using a variety of backing papers put together (matting and layering) to see how different patterns and colours can be mixed together and a variety of papers.  We will finish the cards by making paper flowers and decorating with pearl drops and ribbon.

And the final picture today matches the card above and will be completed at the same workshop as it is a hexigan box which goes with the above card.

You will be provided with the template/instructions to make the hexigan box and lid and using the same toppers and flower styles we will be creating a matching present/gift box to go with the card.  Uusing punches we will create the extra fauna and leaves around the flowers.

Happy Crafting.

Crafter's Companion.......

Hello all,

I decided to download Crafter's Companion FREE monthly downloads for Club Inspire Members (you can download all previous months as well as the current month) and this is what I made with it.  I used a piece of A3 Centura Pearl to make a folded A4 card base, I used a A4 piece of red miri board then two A5 backing papers from the free downloads to matt and layer onto the red miri card.

I then cut out all toppers and flowers and leaves from the free downloads and attached to the card in a random pattern and finished with some punched out black hearts and a sentiment.

Not bad for free and I still have loads left over to make another card.
