What a bad week.....
What a crap week I have had. Monday started the week OK, Tuesday morning about 3am woke up with a migraine and being sick this carried on for all of Tuesday and Wednesday couldn't even keep water down. .Woke up Thursday still with migraine but managed to eat a piece of toast before going to work. Big mistake..... Lasted about 20 minutes before headache was too much, got too hot and went for a nap face down on the floor in the office....... Very ladylike I don't think! One crash call later and one ambulance to city hospital, high blood pressure And heart rate double what it should be... Still with migraine. They decided I needed a 12 lead heart monitor - lovely, all clothes from top off - not a good sight, very degrading. They then decided I needed fluids as was dehydrated and anti sickness drugs and pain killers..... OK I thought one little needle and would feel better - or so you would think. Needle inserted in right arm inner elbow. In go the fluids - very painful..... Needle not in vein fluid going into arm - MADE ME FORGET THE MIGRAINE..... Removed needle, tried other arm/hand for a good vein - no joy so back to the first arm which is swollen and painful as waiting for the fluid to be absorbed into my arm. Needle inserted in wrist by base of thumb - very painful going in but at least in vein - fluids and drugs now going in. All the time still monitoring my heart rate and blood pressure and sticking pins in my fingers to measure my blood sugar. Finally i think it would get better - the fire alarm goes off, now hiding under blanket in hospital gown with hands over ears- now thinking I felt better before they took me to hospital.... 15 mins later it finally stopped.
Fluids and drugs final oy in, heart rate now down to 105 beats per min and blood pressure going back down, told I could go home and must take it easy and rest - only took 5 hours.... Taking the needle out was a problem..... they pulled it out something went wrong and ended up big lump filled with blood under skin - told it would go down - very painful.
Now Friday night, no longer being sick - but still have headache..... I think I am being punished - 4 days with a migraine, is there no justice in this world.
Still, the moral of this story is the nhs staff were lovely and made me feel like they were going to help me, even though things went wrong with the needle's the staff were brilliant, especially the nurses and the ambulance staff, they couldn't have been nicer, it makes me proud to work for the nhs and be a part of it.

Frame Card
Well last day off work today, why do weeks off go so fast, and working weeks so slow..... is there a conspiracy....
You may be aware my daughter graduated from St Andrews University with a MA in English and Philosophy so I made a frame card to display a picture of her.
It is made with an A4 Sheet of card stock which was cut to 21 x 28 cm and from the bottom up scored at 13 cm and 14 cm then from the top down was scored at 1cm and 2 cm and on each side 1cm and 2cm, you trim the corners off when the score lines over lap and cut out a pretty windown in the front, add acetate to the window, add your picture and fold up and seal shut with strong glue/tape.
This is the end result after a ribbon and some flowers.....

Creative Expressions "August" Competition Entry
The competition for Creative Expressions is Autumn, so below is my entry.
This is how I did it.....
I have used Creative Expression stamps (Create a Scene Trees and Church) to create this card. I stamped (using Momento rich cocoa ink) the tree image from the Church set as my focal point and used one of the smaller foliage stamps at the base of the tree, I then die cut and matt and layered onto orange core-dinations card stock and gold matt mirri card. I created my own background paper using the branch stamp from the tree stamp set and used first and second stamped impressions to give a feeling of depth, I then used antique linen distress ink to colour the image and added some glitter to the background. I then matted and layered onto orange core-dinations card stock and gold matt mirri card and put on my base card. I finished the card off with some ribbon and gems and some stamped leaves again from Creative Expressions Seasonal Flora and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and cut out and clear inked/embossed the leaves and placed around the bottom of the card.
Other than the picture being sideways, I love this card, it is so simplistic but was great fun to make.

A wedding anniversary card.......mine!
Well, it is my wedding anniversary on Sunday 29th September - we have been together 21 years now. So I thought I should better make my hubby a wedding anniversary card, so what better to use than Crafter's Companion Party Paws stamps and rose quilling dies and rose embossalicious embossing folders and finally stamped on Neenah card stock and embossed card is centura pearl.
I have used a red card base and matted with black card, I embossed the centura pearl card using the embossalicious rose embossing folder and used spun sugar distress ink to go over the embossed roses, then layered on the black card stock.
I stamped a party paws cute image on neenah card stock and two sentiments, I then coloured with my spectrum noir pens, for Party paws, I decided to use all greys and used IG1,3,4,5,7,8,9 for party paws and DR5 for the heart and then glitter and glue for the "stripes", I used black card for the quilling and quilled 2 strips of roses and 2 stamens and rolled together and sprayed with Crafter's Companion pink glitter spray and die cut a leaf again in black and again sprayed with the same pink glitter spray.
I then die cut my sentiments and party paws image using a spellbinders shaped die and run IG2 round the edge of the party paws image to give an illusion of matting.
I hope my hubby will like it xx
Well, happy crafting till next time.

Hello all
Thought I would make a Shamballa watch instead of the normal bracelets, I choose a heart faced watch and went with a red and white and theme with black thread.
Am loving the end result.

Embossing with the new makey bakes mice.....
I got my new Makey bakey mice CD rom from Crafter's Companion yesterday so got printing out and have made the card below.
It is all printed from the Christmas CD and from the new section on the CD "complete companions" which I find is wonderful, everything you need to make a card in once place.
So, here's how I did it.
I printed out the backing sheet, 2 matt and layer sheets, and the topper and sentiment sheet and cut out.
I then took some silver miri board and along with the 2 matt and layer sheets and the backing sheet, I embossed it all with the A4 snowflake embossalicious folder from Crafter's .
I then took an A3 piece of centura pearl card stock and folded to make an A4 card, and using my Collall all purpose glue I stuck the silver on the card, then the backing sheet, following by the 2 matt and layers (which I layered each on to embossed silver miri) and finally put the topper on the card which I raised with foam tape. I embellished with ribbon and the sentiment and the odd gem or 10, and this is the result.
ta dah.....
Let me know if you like.....

A bit of Humphrey.....
Hello all,
I have just made a Humphrey frame card from Crafters Companion Humphrey CD and put it on to an easel card. To make the stopper for the easel I used core-donations card stock and embossed with a Crafters Companion embossing folder and sanded to reveal the inner core.
This is the end result.

2nd Card today using Crafter's Companion A4 snowflake embossing folded and die-sire corner swirls (Sorry I can't remember the proper name - but they are lovely). I used one of the spellbinders snow men and a Martha Steward fence punch and a sentiment. And this is what I made.
I took a piece of A4 centura pearl card and folded into an A5 card. I matted with black card stock and took a piece of A4 centura pearl card and cut in to A5 and embossed with the A4 snowflake embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I then layered onto the card.
I die cut two corner swirls and used Spellbinders MR and MRS Snowman Die (again brought from Crafter's Companion) and just used MR, and stuck him to black card and put in on the corner of my base card and put a fence around him and finished with a greeting which I matted on to black again to keep the black and white theme.
The snow man does look a little scary........ but overall a good card. ;-)

A Crafter's Christmas.....
I have been playing with my Crafter's Companion A4 embossing folder (Snowflakes) and Die-sire icicles die and Marianne Christmas tree die which I have embossed with embossalicious petite dots (6x6 folder).
I took an A4 card blank and folded into an A5 card, I matted with black card stock and took some centura pearl card stock and put in my A4 snowflake embossing folder from Crafter's Companion, I cut to size and layered onto the black card matt. I took the Crafter's Companion Die-sire Icicles die and cut out of centura pearl card stock and attached with collall 3d glue gel to the top of the card.
I cut 3 tree's from the Marianne Christmas Tree Die and embossed using the Crafter's Companion 6x6 embossalicious petite dots embossing folder. Again using the collall 3d glue gel I attached to the bottom of the card. I took a Martha Stewart fence punch and punched a fence in black card and attached to the bottom of the card and finished with a sentiment.
I do love this card, and was fun to make.
